Love this place!! There was a lot of thought placed into the design of the interior. The broth was creamy and noodles were the perfect thickness and texture to it. I wasn't too hungry so I brought it home and ate it the next day (and noodles were still bouncy with the creamy broth). Coming back for the matcha ramen!

Best ramen in East Bay for sure (even better than Marufuku in my opinion)! Be prepared to wait especially if you go on a weekend. Seating is a bit tight inside so it might be difficult to go in bigger groups. My go to is the signature but if you are adventurous there is a matcha duck ramen. The broth is so rich and flavorful and the noodles have the perfect bouncy texture to them. Will be back for sure maybe to even try the matcha duck ramen :)

The wait was well worth the Amazing Flavor of the Ramen. Def one of the top Ramen spots in the bay. Highly Recommend Mensho. Its Fucking Delicious!

We've been to Mensho several times and we keep coming back now that we've tried a good portion of their menu here. I love that they paid homage to American bbq and veganism it makes their dishes more unique. The wait can be long, on the weekends it can take an hour to be seated. If you go on a weekday it's definitely easier. Street parking only. We've tried the smoked toripaitan, regular toripaitan, the wagyu shoyu, kani tantanmen, and the miso butter corn ramen. Our favorite by far surprisingly is the Kani tantanmen! The broth is savory and creamy from the sesame but not too overwhelming fatty since it's a vegetable based broth. The crab adds a subtle sweetness but doesn't make the dish fishy at all. My favorite small plates are the corn wings, enoki chips, and the teppan grilled hotate scallops. Service is quick and the waiters try to turn over tables fast so that people don't have to wait but the place is seriously so small I wish they had allocated some of the area for making noodles for more seating as I've never seen them actually make noodles during dinner service seems like a waste of space.

Been meaning to try this location after having good experiences at other locations! I think this location is the best by far! Much more seating than the sf location. Bigger selection of small plates! Bigger selection of ramen compared to both sf locations as well! Pros: the mochi infused noodles WAS AMAZING! broth was rich, nutty and delicious, vegan fried mushroom were delicious and juicy Cons: karaage had a tangy sauce which was okay, would have preferred without the tangy sauce and wish they gave a spicy mayo on the side Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Value: 4.5/5

I had to come back a second time because the first time I came, I couldn't give an honest review since I was hungover. Mensho is a solid ramen place - much better than some other ones in the area and I really like it! Service was amazing and food was super quick to be served. We ordered a few apps for the table and the most memorable one for me was the salmon egg rice bowl and the chicken! Everything for the most part was packed with full flavor and every detail to the dish felt intentional and elevated. I ordered the signature ramen and the garlic ramen - both have unique flavors! The only downside is that because the broth and flavors are SO rich, sometimes eating the full dish can get a little overwhelming or feel like it's too much. I do want to try the snow crab ramen next time! Will be back another time

Mensho.. You have outdone yourself and blew me out of the water. Needless to say, busy! Nonstop foot traffic in and out so waiting for a table is inevitable here. Luckily I only waited about 10-15 minutes on a weekday night. For starters, I'm a sucker for Uni so I was really interested to try the Uni A5 Wagyu Handroll since there appears to be a hefty amount of Uni. Unfortunately, they were running low on Uni so I opted for 2 Uni A5 Wagyu nigiri ($14) instead. Two words, MOUTH WATERING. Maybe one-ish more? MMMMMMMMMM. The Uni and Wagyu melted in my mouth. This only makes me want to come back asap to try the handroll. The Nori Calamari ($12) perfect amount of batter and fried crisp. Topped off with a generous amount of nori, providing some with every bite. Served with homemade aioli sauce that I couldn't get enough of. Simply a great staff recommendation. Now I'm not usually impressed with ramen but woooooww. My partner and I both ordered the Garlic Knock Out + smoked ajitama egg ($25.50/ea) and it was definitely knocking-- in the best way possible of course. Packed with rich umami flavors that changed the game for me. The red onion was a great touch in difference of consistency compared to combination of ingredients along the perfectly thick broth. I'm very impressed. I wouldn't be surprised if I had a dream about this meal later because it was so fulfilling and brought me so much joy. Oh, and the staff, ON POINT, super attentive! Overall, 5/5! Can't wait to be back.

Mensho is one of my favorite ramen places and is very comparable to ramen in Japan. The place's ambiance has a semi higher-end, Japanese aesthetic and is decent for small to medium-sized parties (1-6 people). Expect a wait, I went on a weeknight and it took about 30 minutes to get seated. The staff were friendly and had no complaints. I plan on coming back here again to try different foods. The ramen was exceptional, and I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves ramen. I tried the Signature Ramen and I would rate it 5/5. This is one of the best ramen I've tried in America. The broth extremely rich in flavor and has a nice smoky taste to it. The meats all have a nice consistency and juiciness to them. The egg is perfectly cooked with the yolk melting in your mouth with flavor.

Mensho recently opened this outpost in the East Bay, and I'm very glad they did. From the queues and lack of reservations to the scientific investigations of flavor written on the walls, everything about this place says that they take their ramen seriously, and it shows in the food. We started with a couple appetizers: the ume daikon salad and the vegan fried chicken. The salad was a fascinating combination of textures and flavors, featuring paper-thin daikon, crisps of fried enoki mushrooms, and a thick plum dressing. I also really enjoyed the vegan fried chicken, which consisted of breaded chunks of oyster mushrooms. It was an ode to a typical karaage, to be sure, but the mushroom absolutely stood on its own. Onwards to the ramen! We tried the classic toripaitan (19, +3.5 for a smoked ajitama egg) and the signature smoked toripaitan (24). I was astonished by the richness of the broth, given that it was chicken-based, not pork. The whole bowl was delicious, and I slurped up as much as I could cram into my belly. I bumped off one star because the service was a little choppy. We were often left waiting, whether for water, the check, or one of the ramens, which they had unfortunately forgotten to make. However, everyone was very nice, and they rushed the mistaken order through to us pretty quickly. Ultimately, the ramen is what you're coming for, and it's worth it! Just try to show up as early as you can to avoid the lines.
